Step‑by‑step tutorial
Use case: “I need a set of practice problems for algebra with different difficulty levels.”
1. Open Didaktos and go to Planning
- Log in to Didaktos.
- From the main menu, click “Planning”.
- On the Planning screen, select “Yearly Plan”.
2. Set curriculum, grade, and subject
-
Curriculum dropdown:
Click the first “Type…” field and choose “Common Core (CCSS‑Math – High School Algebra)” (or your local equivalent). -
Grade dropdown:
Click the second “Select…” field and choose “9th Grade (Secondary)”. -
Subject dropdown:
Click the third “Select…” field and choose “Algebra”. -
Format dropdown:
Make sure “Plain Text” is selected.
3. Write the topic / instructions
- Click inside the “Topic / Instructions” text box (where the placeholder says “E.g., Water cycle for 3rd grade…”).
-
Type the following (or something very similar):
Create a set of algebra practice problems with three difficulty levels: easy, medium, and challenging. Include linear equations, inequalities, and basic quadratic expressions. Provide clear instructions and ensure the problems are appropriate for 9th‑grade students. No solutions needed unless requested.
-
Optionally, add constraints such as:
- “Focus on one‑variable equations only.”
- “Include word problems in the medium and challenging levels.”
- “Avoid fractions or decimals in the easy level.”
4. (Optional) Attach supporting files
- Click the “Attach” button.
- Select a file from your computer (syllabus, previous unit test, existing worksheet).
- Confirm the upload so the file is linked to this planning request.
5. Choose language
- At the top right, click “English” so the practice problems are generated in English.
- If you later want a Spanish version, you can switch to “Spanish” and regenerate or request a translation.
6. Generate the practice problems
- Review all fields:
- Curriculum: Common Core (CCSS‑Math – High School Algebra)
- Grade: 9th Grade (Secondary)
- Subject: Algebra
- Format: Plain Text
- Topic / Instructions: Your detailed request about algebra practice problems with different difficulty levels
- Click the “Generate Resource” button.
- Wait a few seconds while Didaktos creates the set of problems.
7. Review and refine the result
-
Read the generated algebra practice set and check that it:
- Includes easy, medium, and challenging levels.
- Covers linear equations, inequalities, and basic quadratic expressions.
- Is appropriate for 9th‑grade students.
-
If needed, refine with follow‑up prompts, for example:
- “Add answer keys for all problems.”
- “Include more word problems in the challenging level.”
- “Reduce the total number of problems to 15.”
8. Save, export, or reuse
- Save the practice set inside Didaktos (e.g., “Save” or “Add to library”).
- Export as PDF, Word, or copy it into your LMS or worksheets.
- Tag it as “Algebra – Practice Problems – 9th Grade” so you can reuse or adapt it later.
