1. Open Didaktos and go to Planning
- Log in to Didaktos.
- From the main menu, click “Planning”.
- On the Planning screen, select “Daily Plan”.
2. Set curriculum, grade, and subject

Curriculum dropdown:
Click the first “Select…” field and choose “Special Education Adapted Curriculum (Reading & Comprehension Support)”. -
Grade dropdown:
Choose “Mixed Ability Group (Upper Elementary / 4th–6th Grade)”. -
Subject dropdown:
Select “Language Arts / Reading Support”. -
Format dropdown:
Make sure “Plain Text” is selected.
3. Write the topic / instructions
- Click inside the “Topic / Instructions” text box.

Type the following (or something very similar):
Create a simplified version of the original activity for students with reading difficulties. Use short sentences, clear vocabulary, and step‑by‑step instructions. Include visual cues or simple descriptions that support understanding. Reduce text load and avoid complex terminology. Add a brief comprehension check with picture‑supported choices.

Optionally, add constraints such as:
- “Use only one instruction per line.”
- “Include icons for each step.”
- “Provide a teacher read‑aloud option.”
4. (Optional) Attach supporting files
- Click the “Attach” button.
- Select a file from your computer (original activity, worksheet, visual aids).
- Confirm the upload so the file is linked to this planning request.
5. Choose language
- At the top right, click “English” so the simplified activity is generated in English.
- If you later want a Spanish version, switch to “Spanish” and regenerate or request a translation.
6. Generate the simplified activity
- Review all fields:
- Plan de estudios: Special Education Adapted Curriculum (Reading & Comprehension Support)
- Grade: Mixed Ability Group (Upper Elementary / 4th–6th Grade)
- Asunto: Language Arts / Reading Support
- Formato: Plain Text
- Topic / Instructions: Your detailed request for a simplified version of the activity
- Click the “Generate Resource” button.
- Wait a few seconds while Didaktos creates the simplified activity.
7. Review and refine the result

Read the generated activity and check that it:
- Uses short, clear sentences.
- Includes visual cues or simple descriptions.
- Reduces text complexity.
- Is appropriate for students with reading difficulties.

If needed, refine with follow‑up prompts, for example:
- “Add picture‑supported answer choices.”
- “Include a step‑by‑step teacher script.”
- “Add a simplified vocabulary list.”
8. Save, export, or reuse
- Save the simplified activity inside Didaktos (e.g., “Save” or “Add to library”).
- Export as PDF, Word, or copy it into your LMS or printed materials.
- Tag it as “Reading Support – Simplified Activity – Special Education” for future use.
