On the home screen, click the “Planning” category.
In Resource Type, select “Daily Lesson Plan”.
Tip: if you only need an adapted worksheet rather than a full plan, the Inclusion category has “Adapted Material (Dyslexia/ADHD)” and “Plain Language Summary”.
Start from the Planning category to create a daily plan.
2. Set the resource type, subject, grade and format
Subject:
Choose “Language Arts”.
Grade Level:
Choose “Elementary (4-6)” for an upper elementary group, or “Special Education” if it fits your class better.
Context / Standard:
Leave “No specific standard”, or choose your local curriculum.
Output Format:
Leave “Plain Text”. Didaktos selects the best format automatically, and you can change it.
Choose the resource type, subject, grade level and format for your group.
3. Write the topic / instructions
In Methodology, select the UDL tag (Universal Design for Learning) to build in accessible options from the start.
Click inside the “Topic / Instructions” text box and type the following (or something very similar):
Create a simplified version of the original activity for students with reading difficulties. Use short sentences, clear vocabulary, and step‑by‑step instructions. Include visual cues or simple descriptions that support understanding. Reduce text load and avoid complex terminology. Add a brief comprehension check with picture‑supported choices.
Optionally, add constraints such as:
“Use only one instruction per line.”
“Include icons for each step.”
“Provide a teacher read‑aloud option.”
Describe exactly how the text should be simplified; the UDL tag adds accessible design.
4. (Optional) Attach the original activity
Click the “Attach” button.
Select the original activity or worksheet: an image, PDF, Word (.docx), .txt, .md or .csv file (max 5 MB).
The file appears next to the button. Didaktos uses its content as the source for the simplified version.
Attaching files is a Didaktos Pro feature. On the free plan, paste the original text into the Topic / Instructions box instead. Learn more about using your own materials.
Attach the original activity so Didaktos simplifies your real material (Pro).
5. Choose language
At the top of the panel, select EN so the simplified activity is generated in English.
If you later want a Spanish version, select ES and generate again, or use the Translate action on the result.
Choose EN or ES before generating; the activity is created in that language.
6. Generate the simplified activity
Review all fields:
Resource Type: Daily Lesson Plan
Subject: Language Arts
Grade Level: Elementary (4-6)
Methodology: UDL
Output Format: Plain Text
Topic / Instructions: Your detailed request for a simplified version of the activity
Click the “Generate Resource” button.
Wait a few seconds while Didaktos creates the simplified activity.
Review the fields once, then generate the simplified activity.
7. Review and refine the result
Read the generated activity and check that it:
Uses short, clear sentences.
Includes visual cues or simple descriptions.
Reduces text complexity.
Is appropriate for students with reading difficulties.
Click “Edit” to refine it. Use a quick suggestion such as “Simplify vocabulary”, or type your own follow‑up request, for example:
“Add picture‑supported answer choices.”
“Include a step‑by‑step teacher script.”
“Add a simplified vocabulary list.”
For one more level of support, apply the Simplify (UDL) action to the result.
Refine the result with quick suggestions or your own follow-up request.
8. Save, export, or reuse
Click “Template” and give your settings a name, such as “Reading Support – Simplified Activity – Special Education”. It appears under Saved templates on the home screen, so you can simplify your next activity in seconds.
Open History (the clock icon) to find your recent results again.
Use “Download” to get a Word file, “Copy” to paste it into your LMS, or the “Print” view for printed materials.
