How to Create a Visual Explanation of the Water Cycle for 6th Grade in Didaktos

Step‑by‑step tutorial

Use case: “I need a visual explanation of the water cycle for 6th grade.”

1. Open Didaktos and go to Planning

  1. Log in to Didaktos and open Didaktos AI.
  2. On the home screen, click the “Planning” category.
  3. In Resource Type, select “Daily Lesson Plan”. It is the right format for a single lesson resource.

Tip: if you want a fill-in diagram for students instead, the Resources category has “Graphic Organizer”.

2. Set the subject, grade, standard and format

  1. Subject:
    Choose “Natural Sciences / Biology”.
  2. Grade Level:
Choose “Elementary (4-6)”, or “Middle School” if 6th grade is part of middle school in your district.
  3. Context / Standard:
    Choose “NGSS”.
  4. Output Format:
Leave “Plain Text”. Didaktos selects the best format automatically, and you can change it.

3. Write the topic / instructions

  1. Click inside the “Topic / Instructions” text box.
  2. Type the following (or something very similar):
Create a clear, visual explanation of the water cycle for 6th‑grade students. Include and define key stages (evaporation, condensation, precipitation, collection, and transpiration). Use simple language and vivid imagery that students can easily picture. Organize the explanation so it could be turned into a diagram or infographic, and include a short summary at the end.
  3. Optionally, add constraints such as:
    • “Keep the explanation under 300 words.”
    • “Focus on real‑world examples.”
    • “Avoid technical jargon.”

Ask for the five stages, vivid imagery and a structure that can become a diagram.

4. (Optional) Attach supporting files

  1. Click the “Attach” button.
  2. Select a file from your computer, such as a diagram, worksheet or previous lesson: an image, PDF, Word (.docx), .txt, .md or .csv file (max 5 MB).
  3. The file appears next to the button. Didaktos reads it and uses its content and labels in the explanation.

Attaching files is a Didaktos Pro feature. On the free plan, paste the key text into the Topic / Instructions box instead. Learn more about using your own materials.

7. Review and refine the result

  1. Read the generated explanation and check that it:
    • Includes evaporation, condensation, precipitation, collection, and transpiration.
    • Uses visual and descriptive language.
    • Is appropriate for 6th‑grade students.
  2. Click “Edit” to refine it with a quick suggestion such as “Add examples”, or type your own follow‑up request, for example:
    • “Add a simple diagram description.”
    • “Include a short comprehension check.”
    • “Rewrite using simpler vocabulary.”
  3. To check understanding, use the Create quiz action on the result.
