Teaching comes with a lot of writing that is not a lesson: letters to families, progress reports, meeting minutes, referrals and class agreements. Each one needs the right facts, a clear structure and the right tone, and they always arrive at the busiest moment. The Communication category in Didaktos AI is a parent communication generator with seven tools for that writing. You give the facts, Didaktos writes a clear, warm draft, and you review it before you send it. This page shows how, step by step, with screenshots of the app.
Seven tools in the parent communication generator
Tool
What it writes
Parent Letter / Notice
Letters and notices for families: trips, events, reminders, changes. Purpose first, then details, dates, actions and contact.
Progress Report
A report with attendance, academic strengths and areas for growth, social-emotional development, goals and a signature line.
Student Recommendation
A recommendation letter with specific strengths, examples and achievements.
Counselor Referral
A referral form: reason, observed behaviors, interventions already tried and urgency.
Meeting Minutes
Minutes for a team or parent meeting: attendees, agenda, decisions and action items with owners and deadlines.
Intervention Plan
An intervention plan with baseline, a SMART goal, strategy, frequency, progress monitoring and family communication.
Class Rules & Agreements
Positive class rules with student-friendly explanations, recognition, a student pledge and a parent signature section.
How to write a parent letter in 5 steps
Our example: a letter inviting families of a 3rd grade class to sign the permission slip for a science museum trip.
Step 1: Open Communication
Open Didaktos AI and click the Communication card.
Communication holds the tools for writing to families and colleagues.
Step 2: Choose the tool
In Resource Type, choose Parent Letter / Notice. The other six tools are in the same list.
Seven tools for the writing that comes with teaching.
Step 3: Give the facts
Set the grade level, then write the facts in Topic / Instructions: what is happening, when, what families need to do and by when, and who to contact. Add the tone you want.
Letter to families: our 3rd grade class visits the science museum on Friday, November 13, from 9:00 to 1:30. Signed permission slip and $5 by Friday, November 6. Students bring a packed lunch. Warm tone. Contact: Ms. Rivera.
Give the facts: what, when, what families must do and by when.
Tip: Didaktos uses the facts you give and leaves placeholders, such as the school letterhead, for what you do not. Never include private student information you would not put in a letter.
Step 4: Review the letter
Press Generate Resource. The letter starts with the purpose, lists the important dates, says what to bring and ends with the contact. Check every date and amount before you send it.
Purpose first, then dates, what to bring and who to contact.
Want a different tone? Press Edit and tap More formal tone, or ask in your own words: “make it shorter”, “add a line about medication forms”.
Step 5: Translate it for families
Press the Translate quick action and Didaktos writes the same letter in Spanish, keeping the structure, dates and contact. If you wrote it in Spanish, Translate gives you the English version.
One click gives families the same letter in Spanish.
When both versions are ready, copy them into your school’s messaging app or email, or download them as Word files to print.
More messages you can write
A reminder about parent-teacher conferences, with the sign-up link.
A welcome letter at the start of the year, with your contact hours.
A progress report for a student who has improved a lot this term.

Frequently asked questions
Can I write letters in English and Spanish?
Yes. Write in either language, then use Translate to get the other version. You can also switch the app to ES to work entirely in Spanish.
Can I change the tone?
Yes. Say the tone in your description (warm, formal, brief), or press Edit after generating and tap More formal tone or ask for any change.
Can I use my school’s letterhead or format?
Didaktos leaves a placeholder for the letterhead. With a Pro plan you can attach your school’s format as a Word file, PDF or photo, and Didaktos follows it.
Does Didaktos send the message?
No. Didaktos writes the draft; you review it and send it through your school’s usual channel.
